Dragonwilds 1.0.0.5 Save Corruption & Multiplayer Checklist

The official September 23 patch notes target 1.0.0.5 for Friday, September 25 and explicitly call out save-corruption investigation plus several multiplayer/dedicated-server fixes. Use this page as a cautious pre-flight, not as an unofficial recovery tool.

If a world or character save is missing

Jagex says it is still investigating recovery methods for missing world and character saves. Avoid overwriting the affected slot with experiments or treating community workarounds as guaranteed recovery. Preserve whatever backup/save copies you already have while waiting for official recovery guidance.

Avoid the known appearance-edit risk

The official notes say the team is removing the Edit Appearance button because it was the most common cause being investigated. Until your platform has the corrected build, do not use appearance editing on a save you care about.

Console + modded dedicated servers

1.0.0.5 targets a bug where joining a modded dedicated server from consoles could corrupt a player save. If your group uses mods, verify the client and server are on the intended patched versions before reconnecting valuable characters.

Multiplayer connection fixes

The patch targets failed connections when more than two players are already present, including Xbox clients, plus a console dedicated-world editing issue and case-sensitive server search. Re-test normal connection flow after both sides are updated before changing ports or router settings.

Stabilize the group before the next long session

Once everyone can connect reliably, make one person responsible for backups, agree on shared progression rules and decide whether persistent hosting is actually worth paying for.
