2-2-3 Schedule Pay Calculator

A common 12-hour 2-2-3 rotation produces one 36-hour week and one 48-hour week in a two-week cycle. Enter your actual pay rules below instead of assuming every employer handles overtime or differentials the same way.

Default schedule model: 3 × 12h = 36h in one week and 4 × 12h = 48h in the other, or 84 scheduled hours per two weeks. Change to the general shift calculator if your rotation differs.

How many hours are in a 2-2-3 schedule?

For the common 12-hour Pitman pattern modeled here, the two-week cycle has seven 12-hour shifts: 84 scheduled hours total. One week has three shifts (36 hours), while the other has four shifts (48 hours).

Does a 2-2-3 schedule automatically mean 8 overtime hours?

No universal rule can be assumed. This calculator defaults to a 40-hour weekly threshold, which makes 8 hours in the 48-hour week use the entered overtime multiplier. Change the threshold and multiplier to match the policy that actually applies to you.
