- A Q3 2026 U.S. aesthetics-industry sample reported a median 2.1% of revenue lost to no-shows. That is not a universal rate or a forecast for your salon.
- A late cancellation, a genuine no-show and an appointment refilled at short notice may affect profit differently.
- A prevention percentage is only a hypothetical scenario: reminders, booking clarity and deposits do not guarantee recovered appointments.

Calculation
Use the result responsibly
1. Measure the right denominator
Count completed and missed scheduled appointments over the same period. Avoid labelling every cancellation as a lost appointment.
2. Model contribution, not just booked revenue
Service price less direct consumables is not full business profit. Rent, wages, tools and other fixed expenses need separate consideration.
3. Test an improvement scenario
Choose the proportion of missed visits you might recover with better confirmations or easier rescheduling. Treat its resulting cash value as conditional.
4. Track real impact
Compare results over several weeks without assuming a sample from another country applies to your business.
FAQ
Is the default 5% a published benchmark?
No. Prefilled inputs are illustrative and should be replaced with your own data.
Are regained bookings guaranteed?
No. A prevented no-show might still not lead to a completed paid visit.
