1 — Define the symptom
Separate low average FPS, periodic stutter, crashes, thermal shutdowns and network lag. Random “optimization” tweaks are hard to evaluate when the problem itself is undefined.
2 — Restart and update intentionally
Restart Windows, check the game version and install GPU drivers from the GPU vendor rather than random driver-updater utilities.
3 — Measure
Observe CPU/GPU utilization, temperatures, VRAM/RAM use and frame-time behavior with a reputable monitoring tool. One screenshot during the problem is more useful than twenty guesses.
4 — Reduce the right settings
VRAM pressure suggests lowering texture or resolution-related load. GPU saturation suggests lowering heavy visual settings or resolution. CPU limitation calls for reducing simulation or draw-call-heavy settings where the game exposes them.
5 — Background load
Close unnecessary overlays, browsers, launchers and recording tools one at a time. Avoid disabling security or critical Windows services for tiny gains.
6 — Storage and thermals
Keep enough free storage, clean airflow safely, verify fans operate and investigate abnormal temperatures.
7 — Change one variable
Benchmark after each meaningful change. Otherwise you will not know what helped. Avoid registry “FPS packs,” unknown executables, fake RAM cleaners and unexplained miracle tools.
Keep it small enough to use
A simple sequence that survives real life is more valuable than a perfect system abandoned tomorrow.
Back up important files before system changes. This guide does not recommend pirated software, credential sharing or unsafe optimizer utilities.
