1. Do not confuse UEFN Source with a normal 3D listing
Epic's upload documentation says a UEFN Source listing contains a complete UEFN project as a ZIP archive. Buyers work from the project content, so a normal standalone FBX/GLB asset is not automatically a UEFN Source product.
2. The project must open in the current live UEFN release
Epic requires the project to open and function in the current live UEFN release. Treat the live editor version as part of the deliverable, not just the machine you authored it on.
3. Archive exactly one UEFN project
Fab's technical requirements specify a .uefnproject project packaged as a ZIP archive containing exactly one UEFN project. Python script files must not be included.
4. Compile cleanly and pass UEFN validation
Epic requires the product—including Verse where applicable—to compile cleanly and pass UEFN validation without errors or consequential warnings before publication.
5. Clean redirectors and third-party dependencies
Fix redirectors before submission and declare third-party software or content dependencies. This includes files sourced from anyone other than you or Epic Games.
6. Include a demonstration level when the product is visual
If the product has assets or functionality visible in the UEFN viewport, Epic requires a level demonstrating them. The level should avoid z-fighting and unreasonable polygon overlap.
7. Ordinary 3D assets still have a separate UEFN opportunity
Epic documents importing custom 3D assets from Fab or Blender into UEFN, but Fortnite-ready assets have their own scale, material, texture and performance constraints. That is separate from packaging a full UEFN Source product.
8. Do not rebuild a product just for the trend unless it fits
If the current product is a clean standalone 3D model, keep selling it as the format it actually is. Build a UEFN Source product only when the editable UEFN project itself provides real buyer value.
